Love-Type Waves in Multilayered Elastic Media Containing Voids: Haskell Matrix Method

Propagation of Love-type waves is investigated in a model multilayered elastic solid half-space containing voids. Using Haskell matrix method, the dispersion relations are derived for two situations topmost boundary surface model: (a) when it stress-free and (b) rigid. For both situations, there exist fronts that dispersive nature propagating with distinct speeds. One these wave analogous to obtained Cauchy half-space, while other front new appeared due presence voids model.
